- This much-loved Filipino dish is is a favourite for parties and special occasions. Follow this simple recipe and you can replicate it even if you’re a complete beginner and new to Filipino food!
- Firstly, prepare your veggies as they cook extremely quickly. Slice cabbage, green beans, carrots and mushrooms super thin and as even as you can, this way it will all cook evenly.
- Heat oil over medium-high heat in wok or large skillet. Then add your shrimp (or vegan alternative) and cook for a few minutes until cooked before taking off the heat and placing on kitchen roll.
- Then add more oil to the pan and sauté onions and garlic until they are soft and tender, before placing the pork and/or chicken (or vegan alternative) in along with some salt and pepper with it.
- Once cooked, stir in chicken broth and water with soy sauce and bring it to a boil before simmering.
- Then add in your vegetables (cabbage, green beans, carrots and mushrooms).
- After about 5 minutes, add in your Buenas Flour Sticks, tossing them as they absorb the sauce.
- Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the noodles are soft and al-dente. Throw in some soy sauce and oyster sauce to taste and stir well.
- Once most of the liquid is absorbed, take it off the heat and put it straight on a serving dish along with your garnish of preference (coriander, green onion, lemon juice).
- Now serve into bowls and eat while steaming hot!
