Description: Marukome Miso with Dashi 375g. A fridge friendly plastic tub of miso paste. ‘Ryotei’ miso follows a traditional recipe, and the resulting medium red paste is an all-purpose miso with a rich flavour that is further enhanced by the addition of umami-rich dashi soup stock. Use to make miso soup or to flavour your noodle and stir fry dishes. Miso can be used as an alternative to soy sauce and in all sorts of Japanese cooking, from the famous miso soup, to marinades, dressings and toppings. It is also used increasingly in health-food cooking as it is low in fat and cholesterol.
Tuk Tuk Method: How to make miso soup with tofu (4 servings): Boil 800ml water in a pot. Add 150g tofu, 40g wakame seaweed and cook for 2-3 minutes. Turn off heat, then gently dissolve miso paste into above mixture. Re-heat pot. Turn off heat as soon as water starts boiling. Serve hot.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
