    Tuk Tuk Method: Put rice into sieve and rinse thoroughly in plenty of cold water. Allow to drain and then cook in one of the following ways.

    1. Saucepan: Put 250g (8oz) rice into a saucepan with 600ml (1 pint) of boiling water and salt if required. Bring to the boil, cover with a lid and reduce heat to simmer for 12 minutes. Remove pan from heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Drain if required. Fluff up with a fork and serve.
    2. Microwave: Method and timings are for a 800 watt oven, for other ovens, refer to manufacturers handbook. Put 250g (8oz) rice in a deep non-metallic bowl wit 600ml (1 pint) of boiling water and salt if required. Cover with microwave film, cut a few vents in the film. Cook on full power for 13 minutes, allow it to stand for 5 minutes. Fluff up with a fork and serve.
