Description: Nongshim Shin Ramyun 韓國辛辣面 5包裝 is the famous Korean spicy instant noodle, here in a 5 x 120g multipack to keep the cupboard stocked. Thick, chewy noodles sit in a deep red broth built on chilli, garlic and black pepper, with dried mushroom, carrot and spring onion flakes in the mix. Is it very spicy? It is a solid medium-hot: lively, but regular buldak eaters will be comfortable. Each pack makes one generous bowl in about 5 minutes on the hob.

Tuk Tuk Method: Bring 550ml of water to the boil, add the noodles, soup base and vegetable flakes and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drop in an egg for the last minute, or lay a slice of cheese on top to soften the heat. Add kimchi, beansprouts or leftover roast meat for a fuller meal.
