Description: Yutaka Dried Winter Shiitake Mushrooms 30g. A wonderfully versatile ingredient, ideal for adding a deep, unami rich flavour and fragrance to soups, stews, stir-fried and rice dishes. This product is suitable for vegans, high in fibre and protein. The shiitake caps are 4-6cm wide.
Tuk Tuk Method: Rinse carefully under cold water. For best results, soak in cold water overnight or until soft. Alternatively, soak in warm water for 30 minutes. For immediate use, submerge the mushrooms in warm water in a container (with lid), add 2 tsp of sugar, close the lid and shake for a few minutes or until soft. Next, remove the hard stems and cut to a desirable size appropriate for the intended use. Cook together with your dish for a minimum of 5 mins to give a deep and unami rich flavour and fragrance. The water used for rehydrating the mushrooms can also be used as stock to add extra unami to soups.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
