We visited China last year and, not being able to obtain ale, found Meijian Green Plum Wine. This is absolutely perfect, chilled, in the hot Chinese summer. Not sweet, not sour, just fruity. Quite a thing. And the ONLY place you can buy it in the UK, possibly in Europe, is Tuk Tuk Mart.
Don't go for the flavoured version, just the pure green plum wine. Wonderful stuff.
