Description: Garden Queen Tamarind Concentrate (Nuoc Me Chua) 454g is pure tamarind concentrate made from 80% tamarind and water — nothing else. Sour, fruity and smooth, it is the tamarind Thai and Vietnamese cooks reach for when a dish needs proper tang. How do you use tamarind concentrate? Stir a spoonful into pad thai sauce, curries, soups and marinades, or dilute with water and sugar for a refreshing tamarind drink, hot or cold. A little goes a long way, so one jar lasts for months of cooking.
Tuk Tuk Method: Add two teaspoons to your pad thai sauce for the classic sweet-sour balance. Stir into tom yum or sinigang for a fruity sourness. Or mix with water, sugar and ice for nuoc da me, a Vietnamese tamarind cooler.
Ingredients: Tamarind 80%, Water 20%.
Storage: Once opened keep refrigerated and use within 1 month.
