I bought this first time from this online store after looking for Malaysian Kaya puffs online as I haven't eaten authentic Kaya puffs from Malaysia after moving to the UK 20 years ago. I tried one piece yesterday. It tastes awful! no kaya taste or smell of coconut or eggs in the filling (key ingredients of Kaya - coconut egg jam). Texture was dry and leathery.
The pastry was tasteless too - not sweet, not salty, bland, thin, breaks up easily..£4.50 (plus delivery cost) for 4 small pieces in a packet is very overpriced and a wasted money for me. I have to throw the rest away. Packet says "Made in UK" from traditional Malaysian recipe. I very much doubt the latter. First and last time for me. Very disappointing indeed!
