Description: Thai Crown palm sugar discs are pure palm sugar pressed into eight handy discs, 454g in total. Made from the sap of palm trees, it brings a deep, rounded caramel sweetness that white sugar cannot match, and a lighter, more buttery note than cane jaggery. Palm sugar is the backbone of Thai seasoning, balancing salty fish sauce and sour lime. Shave or grate a disc into dressings and curries, or melt it down for syrups and caramel.
Tuk Tuk Method: Grate into som tam (green papaya salad) dressing with lime juice and fish sauce. Melt with coconut milk for a sauce to pour over sticky rice or grilled banana. Or shave a little into a Thai red or massaman curry to round out the heat.
