Description: Yutaka Frozen Eel Unagi Kabayaki 日本鰻魚 250g is grilled Japanese eel, ready to heat and serve. Unagi kabayaki is eel that has been butterflied, grilled and glazed with a sweet-savoury tare sauce — the same preparation served over rice in Japan's unagi restaurants. This frozen fillet needs only a few minutes in a pan, oven or air fryer, and the glaze caramelises as it heats. An easy route to unagi don at home.

Tuk Tuk Method: Heat from frozen in a pan or oven for 5-8 minutes until piping hot. Slice over a bowl of steamed rice for unagi don, with extra tare or teriyaki sauce and a pinch of sansho pepper. Or cut into strips for sushi rolls and temaki.

Storage: Keep frozen at -18°C or colder. Once defrosted, cook and eat on the same day; do not refreeze.
