Description: Dollee nasi lemak sambal 240g is a ready-made Malaysian sambal built for the national dish: coconut rice with peanuts, fried anchovies, cucumber and a boiled egg. The paste blends onion, chilli, tamarind, dried anchovy and dried shrimp for a sweet, tangy and savoury heat — medium rather than blow-your-head-off, so it suits most palates. There is no need to fry a sambal from scratch; spoon it straight from the jar. It also works well as a table condiment or a quick stir-fry base.
Tuk Tuk Method: Spoon over coconut rice with roasted peanuts, cucumber, fried anchovies and a boiled egg for an instant nasi lemak. Fry with prawns or squid for sambal udang or sambal sotong. Or stir a spoonful into fried rice or noodles for a sweet-spicy kick.
