They soften as they simmer and sweeten the pot as they go — no added sugar needed.
Tuk Tuk Method: Rinse, then simmer in Chinese soups with chicken, goji berries and ginger. Steep a few in hot water for red date tea, plain or with goji. Or add to congee and sweet soups such as red bean or snow fungus tong sui.
