Fresh Thai Holy Basil 新鮮泰國聖羅勒 100g

Description: Fresh Thai holy basil (新鮮泰國聖羅勒) is the peppery, clove-scented leaf behind Thailand’s beloved pad kra pao. It is a different plant from sweet Thai basil — more peppery than aniseedy, and it stands up to high heat without losing its punch. Holy basil is tricky to find fresh in the UK, so we stock it fresh: 100g of fragrant leaves, ready for the wok. Add it right at the end of cooking and let the heat wilt it into the sauce.

Tuk Tuk Method: Pad kra pao: stir-fry minced pork or chicken with garlic, chilli, oyster and fish sauce, then wilt in a big handful off the heat. Toss through drunken noodles. Or fry the leaves until crisp for a garnish.

Storage: Keep refrigerated, wrapped in kitchen paper inside a bag, and use within a few days.
