Description: Golden Phoenix (Hong Thong) Thai jasmine rice 10kg is the family-size sack of fragrant Thai rice — the variety Thais call hom mali. The long grains cook up soft and fluffy with a delicate floral scent, and stay just sticky enough to eat with chopsticks. It is the everyday rice of Thai kitchens, made for green and red curries, stir-fries and simple fried rice. A 10kg bag keeps a rice-eating household going for weeks and works out far cheaper per portion than small supermarket packs.
Tuk Tuk Method: Rice cooker method: rinse 3 cups of rice until the water runs clearer, add 3 cups of water (adjust to taste) and switch on. Do not lift the lid or stir during cooking. When done, fluff with a fork and rest for 10 minutes before serving. Use for pineapple fried rice, Thai curries or a simple fried egg with fish sauce.
Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
