Description: Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce 李錦記叉燒醬 397g is the ready-made char siu sauce for proper Chinese BBQ pork at home. Sweet, savoury and lightly spiced, with honey and fermented soybean in the base, this thick marinade gives pork the glossy, sticky, mahogany finish you see hanging in Cantonese restaurant windows. Char siu means "fork roasted", but your oven or barbecue does the job nicely. One jar goes a long way — enough for a big batch of char siu pork with some left for ribs.
Tuk Tuk Method: Marinate pork shoulder strips overnight, then roast at 200°C, basting often, for classic char siu pork to slice over rice. Brush over spare ribs for the last 20 minutes of roasting. Or stir a spoonful into fried rice with diced char siu and spring onion.
Storage: Refrigerate after opening.
