White Mooli (Daikon) 白蘿蔔 800g-1.2kg

Description: Fresh mooli daikon 白蘿蔔 800g-1.2kg is the long white radish used across East and South Asian cooking: mild and crisp, with a gentle peppery note. Mooli and daikon are the same vegetable, and in Chinese kitchens it is known as lo bak. You can eat it raw in salads and slaws, but it really comes into its own cooked, when it turns sweet and tender. One mooli covers several family meals.

Tuk Tuk Method: Simmer chunks in soups and pork bone broths, or braise with beef. Grate and squeeze for Cantonese turnip cake (lo bak gou), simmer thick rounds in dashi for Japanese oden, or grate raw as daikon oroshi beside grilled fish. It also pickles well with rice vinegar, sugar and salt.
