Yutaka range

Yutaka is the brand that brought Japanese home cooking to Britain, and this collection is our full range of it: over ninety lines covering everything from sushi night to weeknight noodles. If you have bought Japanese ingredients in a UK supermarket, there is a good chance you have already cooked with Yutaka without noticing the name.

The sushi kit is the classic starting point: sushi nori, seasoned rice vinegar, mirin, sushi ginger and inari pockets for the sweet tofu pouches. From there the range widens into the everyday shelf — panko breadcrumbs for tonkatsu and katsu curry, miso pastes and instant miso soups, wok-ready udon noodles, roasted sesame seeds in black and white, shaoxing rice wine and proper Japanese soy accompaniments.

The frozen side is worth exploring too. Yutaka gua bao buns steam up pillowy in ten minutes and are ready for whatever filling you fancy. Frozen edamame, unagi kabayaki and masago fish roe cover the izakaya end of the menu, and there are bamboo chopsticks and sushi mats to kit out the kitchen while you are at it.
